Sable's Story

I made the decision to move to Paris to pursue my dreams of studying fashion design. As time went by, I realized the extensive process involved in creating a garment (design, patterns, fabric selection, cutting, sewing and trials). Most of the time, it took us up to a month to create a single garment.

That's when I understood the true value of clothing. Living through all the stages helped me understand. I wondered how it was possible for a dress to cost less than a cup of coffee when I knew the hard work behind that dress. That's when I discovered the human exploitation hidden behind fast fashion brands. I researched and became aware of the environmental damage caused by this industry worldwide.

The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world, after oil, surpassing transportation, food, and manufacturing. It produces more carbon emissions than all international flights and maritime transport combined, according to the UN.

I delved deeper into my research until I finally opened my eyes. I came across horrifying facts that sometimes one would rather not know, and that's when I decided to make my contribution.

I wanted to help others like me become aware and start seeing clothing as art rather than something disposable.

Then the pandemic arrived, and I decided to create Sable, a sustainable and ethical brand. I started by designing masks using recycled fabrics that could be washed more than 500 times without losing their shape or color.

In 2021, I also became certified in Image Consulting and Personal Shopping by Elle Magazine, to help people discover their style and understand which pieces and colors suit them best.

My goal is to produce garments and accessories while respecting the environment and labor rights, using high-quality materials: natural, organic, and recycled fabrics. I want my customers to identify with me, my empathy, my love for fashion and my desire to contribute something to our planet and, at the same time, to the local workforce.

"Sable" means "sand" in French, and it symbolizes how each of us contributes our grain of sand to help our home, our planet.

That's why I am always grateful to each person who contributes their part through our brand. The support I receive from my customers is priceless and fills my heart with gratitude.

Thank you for being a part of Sable.

With love,
